Purpose
To develop a plan for sustainably supporting increased recruitment and retention of a more diverse Missouri library workforce, so that the demographics of the profession reflect the demographics of the state of Missouri.
Duties
Implement and sustain programs that provide a pipeline into librarianship for individuals who are not well represented in the field, including scholarships and professional development funding as well as a support structure to ensure access to the resources and tools required to stay in the field.
On an ongoing basis, seek the input of Missouri library workers and librarians from diverse backgrounds to inform the design of the plan and establish a baseline measurement for future assessment purposes.
