Mission Statement

The mission of the Reference and Information Services Special Interest Group (RISSIG) shall be to provide a forum for the discussion of all aspects of reference and information services in all types of libraries.

RISSIG Goals for 2008
 
Continue to maintain and explore ways of increasing use of the MLARA_L listserv
Work to recruit useful, exciting and cutting edge programming for the 2008 annual conference, including already confirmed author Laurel K. Hamilton
Maintain currency of RISSIG website
Continue to increase membership and awareness of RISSIG

MLARA-L
 
MLARA-L is an open list for book discussion and Reader’s Advisory techniques. The list is sponsored by the Reference and Information Services Special Interest Group (RISSIG) and the Missouri Library Association (MLA). Subscribers are invited to discuss issues related to Reader’s Advisory and the promotion of reading in the library. It is also an opportunity for subscribers to connect with other Reader’s Advisory professionals in Missouri to keep current with reading trends and activities going on in the state.
