Recent events:

417 LibrariansThe 417 Librarians last met Saturday, August, 6, for a fun road trip. They traveled to Osceola, MO for a special tour of the Johnson Library and Museum, which is a fascinating home and collection of 35,000 books, periodicals, maps, slides, antique furniture, china, buttons, foreign coins, and more. They then enjoyed lunch at the Sugarfoot BBQ. The town also has Second Street Books, an interesting used bookstore, and the Osceola Cheese Company factory outlet, which offers free samples and also has other foods and gift items (including books).

Prior to that, they met:

  • May 11, 2011 at Panera Restaurant, Springfield
  • March 18, 2011 at the Springfield Brewing Company, Springfield
  • January 25, 2010 at Logan's Roadhouse, Springfield
  • November 5, 2010 at Old House Chicago, Springfield
  • September 23, 2010 at McSalty's Pizza Cafe, Springfield

Ideas...

Once the winter months have passed, we’d like to take a few gatherings outside of Springfield. We’re also thinking about touring some libraries within the 417 area and perhaps having speakers at some get-togethers.

Got any other great ideas for networking in the greater Springfield area? Let us know!
