Public Libraries Community of Interest (PLCI)

Mission Statement

The Public Libraries Community of Interest (PLCI) is a part of the
Missouri Library Association (MLA).  Membership in this Community of Interest is open to any member of MLA in good standing who is interested in promoting the development and representing the interests of public libraries and public librarians in the state of Missouri.

Goals

PLCI set these goals beginning in 2022:

  • Continue our mentorship program with 2 cohorts of mentors/mentees throughout the year
  • Communicate with PEER officers to improve and/or expand the mentoring program
  • Sponsor sessions at the 2022 MLA conference

Mentoring Program

Beginning in May of 2018, PLCI is seeking public library employees interested in mentoring new librarians.  Program guidelines for the Mentoring Program can be found here.  Applications can be found on the PLCI Mentoring Program page.
