MLA is pleased to announce the results of its ALA Councilor-Elect position.
Stephanie Tolson, Dean of Learning Resources and Academic Support for St. Charles Community College, has been elected as our new ALA Councilor-Elect, effective immediately. Dr. Tolson is an active member of many library associations, including the Missouri Library Association (MLA), American Library Association (ALA), Black Caucus of the American Library Association (BCALA), Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL), Special Libraries Association (SLA), College and Reading Language Association (CRLA), and the Missouri Community College Association (MCCA). She received a Doctorate in Education from Saint Louis University, an M.L.S. from Emporia State University, and received a B.A. in Economics and Business Administration from Park University. She has worked in a various library settings including special and academic libraries and she is an avid user of her public library.
Stephanie will assume the role of Councilor-Elect at the time of her election. She will replace Regina Greer-Cooper as ALA Councilor following ALA Annual in June 2016. She will serve as ALA Councilor until the end of ALA Annual 2019, representing MLA at Council meetings and reporting back to MLA on Council activities.
